Mrs. Sarah Hufford, 81, of
Bumettsville died Sunday at 1:10
a.m. in White County Memorial
Hospital. She had been ill three
years.
Born Jan 15, 1895, in Carroll
County, she was the daughter of
Arthur and Charlotte Riggle
Shaffer. Her first marriage was
to James Burris who is deceased.
She was married in 1939 to
Chester Hufford. She had lived in
the Burnettsville area most of
her life and was a member of
Lockport Christian Church.
Surviving with the husband are
two sons, Thomas Burris, Wylie,
Texas, and Chester L. Hufford
Jr., Rt. 6, Logansport; a
daughter, Mrs. Alberta Overton
of Palo Alto, Calif.; two brothers,
Charles Shafer, Burnettsville and
Lewis C. Shaffer, Delphi; four
sisters, Mrs. Josephine Coble,
Burnettsville; Mrs. Isabelle
Frye, Logansport; Mrs.
Catherine Shafer, Rt. 1, Burnettsville;
and Mrs. Margaret Green,
Rt. 1, Delphi; 12 grandchildren
and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday
at Miller-Voorhis Funeral Home
in Monticello with the Rev.
Robert Ross officiating. Burial
