Earla Kay Parsons, 79, of Olney, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN.

Kay was born on December 15, 1938 in Benton, IA, the daughter of Earl and Greta (Page) Fletchall.

She married Ken Parsons on September 8, 1984 in Burlington, IL and he survives her.

Kay lived in Sycamore, IL for many years where she worked as a school bus driver for 26 years. She was well known for her cake decorating for weddings, birthdays, and graduations. Upon retirement Kay and her husband, Ken, moved to Olney in December 2005 to retire on the lake and be closer to family. Kay volunteered at the Carle-RMH Auxiliary and made many friends through her work. She enjoyed baking and making candy for the Auxiliary fund raisers.

Kay is survived by her husband and best friend of 34 years, Ken Parsons of Olney; daughter, Laurie Holbrook of Sycamore, IL; daughter, Anna Newman of Paris, KY; son, Victor (Trish) Holbrook of Sycamore, IL; daughter, Dorothy Mowers of Charleston, IL; step-daughter, Debbie Bentzen of Calabasas, CA; step-daughter, Kim Walton of Sycamore, IL; grandchildren, Elise Holbrook, Johnathan Holbrook, and Luke Mowers; brothers, Butch Fletchall; sister, Glenda Klommhaus; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Eli Holbrook, and sisters Leota Earlenbach and Phyllis McNerney.

Memorials can be made to Carle-RMH Auxiliary or American Cancer Society.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2018 at the Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.

A funeral service and burial in Elmwood Cemetery will be held in Sycamore, IL on Tuesday, September 25, 2018. More information will be posted as it becomes available.
