Early Life: Melvin was born January 2, 1932, in Springville, Utah, to Moses Leon and Alice Smith Shepherd. As a child, his family moved to Thistle, Utah, where he grew up hunting and fishing in the mountains he loved.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: As a young man, Melvin traveled the country working for Western Union as a lineman. He met Angela Naomi Portrey in Nebraska; they married April 6, 1955. Together, they had four children. As his children grew, he moved his family back to Utah and worked for Alpine School District until his retirement. Melvin Lee Shepherd, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away September 15, 2018, in Provo, Utah. He was 86.
Survived By: His children: Melvin Shepherd Jr., of Spanish Fork; Katherine Fuller, of Roosevelt; Keith Shepherd, of Tucson, AZ.
Preceded In Death By: His wife, Angela; his daughter, Teresa; his parents and brothers: Moses and Roy Shepherd.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
