Ruby Montgomery was the 7th child born to Bruer Melvin and Cora Mae (Whitaker) Murphy on February 7, 1931 at Millerton, Ok. She departed this life on September 10, 2018 at the Norman Regional Hospital at the age of (87) years.
Ruby graduated from the Idabel High School and moved to Norman, Ok. in (1950). She was a member of the Norman First Assembly Of God Church. It was at a church youth group meeting one night that she met the love of her life Mr. Tommie L. Montgomery Sr. as he rode in on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. They were married on June 23, 1953 in Norman. They were married for (63) years before his passing on December 7, 2016.
Ruby was employed with S.W. Bell before her retirement in (1999). She was a servant of the Lord Jesus and firmly believed her mission in life was to love everyone, to help and give to those in need and share her love for Jesus. Ruby loved spending time with her family. When her grandchildren came along she enjoyed spoiling them with snacks, taking them to the park, playing catch with them and attending their activities. She was a wonderful seamstress, gardener and cook.
Ruby was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband Tommie Sr., (4) Sisters: Mozelle, Bertha, Clara and Frankie, (2) Brothers; Bruer Jr. and Gerald. Those who survive her include Daughter Donna Cline and husband Leland, Son Tommie Montgomery Jr. and wife Kristi, (4) Grandchildren; Tyler Montgomery, Kacee Montgomery Ulhes and husband Bradley, Nicole Cline Detwiler, Brody Cline and fianc’e Miranda Kelly,(4) Great Grandchildren; Gracelynn, Gage, Tucker, Nova and many other relatives and friends.
