Crawfordsville passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Sept. 10, 2018, surrounded by loved ones.

He was born Oct. 29, 1944, to Rex E. and Marguerite L. (Grimes) Linn.

He was educated in Crawfordsville schools and graduated in 1962. While in school he was sophomore class president, member of the National Honor Society and played football in grades 6 through 12.

enlisted in the Air Force January 1964 where he served our country for four years. After basic training, he attended Syracuse University in New York for nine months where he studied Russian. After three months of intelligence training, he was stationed in England as a Russian interpreter until his discharge in January 1968.

He coached Pony League baseball, Women’s softball and was assistant Scout Master for St. Bernard’s Troop #326. He was employed at RR Donnelley and Sons, Fleetwood (Prowler) Travel Trailers and retired from Pace Dairy Foods in 2006.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Starlene “Star” Linn; son Jared (Casey) Linn, Greenwood; grandchildren, Rebekah and Isaac Linn; sisters, Rita Kuetemeyer, Grayslake, Illinois, and Pam (Greg) Strain, Social Circle, Georgia; step-son Chris Barnes, Crawfordsville; step-daughter Amber (Scott) Smith, Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Chance and Marjorie Barnes, Cole, Evany, Dillon and Kailyn Crowley and Lilly and Patience Smith; and extended family.

Services will be held at Hunt & Son Funeral Home, 107 N. Grant Ave. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, with the service immediately following. Burial will be at Shannondale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in support of fighting kidney disease may made to: Team Mason, 2193 E. Overcoat Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
