Funeral service for Ann Rachel Puckett Henderson, 90, will be Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Johnson Chapel UMC with Reverend Tom Salter officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Johnson Chapel UMC.
Mrs. Henderson died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at her residence. She was born Monday, May 28, 1928, in Morgan County to the late Reuben "Rube" Ernest Puckett and Mattie Syldria Kirby Puckett. She was a teacher for 36 years, with the last 30 years of her tenure at Decatur City School System. She was a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church and was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Decatur. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quitman Henderson, one sister and eight brothers.
The family would like to say a special "Thanks" to Hospice of the Valley and to Jennifer Warren, Evita Williams, Rosemary Orr, Cathy Peterson and Regina Orr, the sitters, who showed so much care and compassion for Mrs. Henderson.
Survivors include one son, David Henderson (Sheree) of Danville; two grandchildren, Jason Henderson (Kelly) and Kirk Henderson (McKenzie), both of Danville; three great-grandchildren, Callie Henderson, Anslea Henderson and Kinley Henderson.
In lieu of flowers and food, family requests memorials be made to Hospice of the Valley.
