SCHOLTISEK, Henry J. Age 75, of Watkins Glen, passed away August 9, 2016. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Monday (Aug. 15th) from 4pm-6pm; followed by an Elk Service and funeral at 6pm. A private burial at Lakeview Cemetery with military honors will be held at the convenience of the family. Henry worked at US Salt until retiring in 2005. He proudly served in the US Navy. Henry was a member and former trustee of the BPOE Elks Lodge #1546; member and past Commander of VFW Post #2674, and member and past Chief of the Watkins Glen Volunteer Fire Company. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy; parents, Herman and Norma Scholtisek; and grandson Ian Scholtisek. Survivors include his children, Melissa (Robert) Teed of Reading Center, Michael (Teresa) Scholtisek of Trumansburg, Eric (Amy) Scholtisek of Watkins Glen, and Hayley Scholtisek of Burdett; sister, Beverly (Edward) Naylor of Watkins Glen; and brother, David Scholtisek; sisters-in-law, Judy Jones of Coopers Plains, Linda Benjamin of Watkins Glen, Debbie (Jim) Ribble of Painted Post, and Mona Crawford of Elizabethtown, KY; brother-in-law, Richard Smiley of Corning; and four grandchildren, Allison Teed, and Regan, Owen and Jaydon Scholtisek. Memorial donations in his memory may be directed to the Watkins Glen Volunteer Fire Department, Watkins Glen Fire Department, 201 North Perry Street, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
