Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mrs. Barbara R. Dechand, 82, 441 Freeman, who died Sunday at a Topeka convalescent center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1899, in Topeka, the daughter of John and Apollonia Hefner Artzer, and spent her life in Topeka.

Mrs. Dechand was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Topeka, and the Christian Mothers Club of Sacred Heart Parish.

She was married to John Casper Dechand Oct. 14, 1919. He died Jan. 10, 1964.

Survivors include two sons, Albert Dechand and Ralph Deschand, both in Topeka; five daughters, Mrs. Rosella Hewitt, Mrs. Mildred Collard, Mrs. Mary Kirkwood, and Mrs. Thersa Desch, all in Topeka, and Mrs. Barbara Gudenkauf, Oneida; four sister, Mrs. Caroline Dietz, Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Florence Myers, Sacramento, Calif, Mrs. Marie Domme, Glendora, Calif, and Mrs. Magdalen Schwartz, Topeka; a brother, Charles Artzer, Topeka; 39 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
