Bertha
Nell Bacot, 84, of Rogers, Arkansas and formerly a resident of Bastrop,
La. for many years,, died Thursday March 21, 2013 after a brief
illness.



She was born to the late Sam and Frances Giambrone,
December 9th, 1928 in Bolton Mississippi. She attended Hinds Junior
College in Jackson Mississippi. She was married to James P. Bacot, Jr.,
who is currently residing at Lagniappe Nursing Home in Bastrop.



Mrs.
Bacot was a volunteer and later director of Crisis Assistance
Ministries of Bastrop for many years. She was devoted to helping others
and making a difference in their lives. She received the Community
Volunteer of the Year Award for her service and dedication.



She
was a member of First United Methodist Church of Bastrop, where she had
served in the past as Sunday School teacher, Circle Leader, and Lay
Pastor. She loved to play the piano, make miniature doll furniture, and
loved to cook.



She was preceded in death by her parents, a
brother, J.T. Giambrone, a sister, Marie Freeman, a grandchild, Stephen
Strickland, and her beloved aunt, Josie Beard.



She survived by
her husband, James P. Bacot Jr, four children: Bill Bacot and wife Gwyn,
Janice Strickland and husband Steve, Frances Ryals and husband Gary,
and Jim Bacot.



She is also survived by eight grandchildren and
eight great-grandchildren, and her loving sister, Rosemary Saway, as
well as a host of other relatives.



Graveside services will be
held Saturday, March 23rd, at 11 a.m. in Bolton, Ms where she grew up.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or Crisis
Assistance Ministries, both of Bastrop, LA.
