GEORGE BASLER SERVICES HELD
. Funeral services for George Basler, 74, of Granger were held at the Chapel of Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Koth of the Liberty Community Church officiating. Sacred selections were sung by Rev. Albert Anderson accompanied by Mrs. Preb Dow.
. Casket bearers were Wesley Ballinger, Richard Colman, Rex Hutton, Clair Wright, Russell Coder and Benny Harris.
. He and his family farmed for many years in Indiana moving to this community 25 years ago. For several years, Mr. and Mrs. Basler owned and operated the hotel in Toppenish and later moved to a farm near Spokane where they farmed until returning to Granger five years ago.
. He is survived by his wife, Mattie A. of Granger; six daughters, Mrs. Richard Cartano, Granger, Mrs. Jesse Coder, Sunnyside, Mrs. Norman Knudson, Seattle; Mrs.Earl Baker, North Bend, Mrs. Frank Bledso and Mrs. Les Cox, Seattle; three sons Ralph of Davenport; William Pete, Granger and Bob of McCleary. Three sisters, two brothers, 32 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren also survive. Burial in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens, directed by Smith Funeral Home.
