Rev. Bill Mobley, age 81, a resident of 2306 W. 5th Street, Washington, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be conducted by Pastor John Mark Windley and Pastor David Thompson. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. The men of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Mobley was born February 12, 1937 in Beaufort County to the late Thomas Cleveland “Smoke” Mobley and Letha Elizabeth Harris Mobley. On December 27, 1957 he married Leytha Brewer who survives. He attended Free Will Baptist Bible College in Nashville, TN, was a former Mason and member of the Woodmen of the World. He pastored at Sandy Acres Free Will Baptist Church in Columbia for 4 years, Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church in Pinetown for 20 years and Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville for 3 years. He served in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife Leytha Brewer Mobley of the home, one brother, Tommy Mobley and wife Iris of Washington, two nephews, Tommy Mobley Jr., Michael Mobley and two great nieces, Lillie and Lyla. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Claire Mobley and his daughter in law, Sandra Mobley.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Peace Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 2480 W. 5th Street, Washington, NC 27889 or Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 10182 Cherry Run Road, Greenville, NC 27834.
