Shirley LaVerne Holt 82, of Lubbock passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018. She was born October 6, 1935 in Lubbock to James S. and Helen Gholson. She worked for Lena Stephens Department Store for twenty years before retiring. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and Lubbock Bowling League.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Calvin Blaine Tracy and Cecil Marion Holt; daughters, Brenda Joyce Tracy and Debra Kay McCoy; and brother, William Wesley Gholson, James S. Gholson and Lee Edward Gholson.

She is survived by her children, LaVerne Ekdahl and husband Royce, Carol Sue Gould, James David Tracy and Wendy Gail Plumley and husband Danny; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Thomas McCoy, Ricky Ekdahl, Steven Gould, Bobby Gholson, B. J. Marshall, Riley Ekdahl, Ethan Ekdahl and Jeff Fuller.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Sanders Funeral Home with burial to follow at the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
