Kenneth W. "Whitey" Barrett, 77, of Fowler, died on Monday, September 3, 2018. He was born on November 29, 1940 in Earl Park to the late Fred and Mable (Daily) Barrett. He married Lana Phillips on August 1, 1975 in Kentland; she survives.
He was a 1959 graduate of Fowler High School. He had served in the Army Reserves and worked at Eli Lilly. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing and was an avid IU fan.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters; one brother; one sister; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by three children, Douglas, Bonita and Keith Barrett; two stepsons, James and John Vanderwal; one sister, Eva Moroz; three brothers, Robert, Jerry and Ronny Barrett; and a stepgranddaughter, Shelby Vanderwal.
Graveside services will be at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Fowler Cemetery.
