She lived in the vicinity of her birthplace until 59 years ago, when she moved to Cherokee County where she has continued to live until her demise, having reached the age of 74 years, 1 month and 13 days.
Her marriage to Charles Sleezer occurred July 19, 1882, and to this union five children were born, of whom three are living: namely, Roy and Mrs. Jessie McGaffin of Cherokee and Lewis of Sioux City, Iowa.
Mrs. Sleezer had also two adopted daughters: namely, Fern and Verna Sleezer, who throughout the five years experience of Mrs. Sleezer as an invalid rendered to her a devotion of exceptional merit which was greatly appreciated by their foster mother, as well, as by other members of the family.
Mart and Edward Sleezer of Cherokee, William of Keokuk, Iowa and Philo of Bloomington, Ill, are surviving brothers of Mr. Sleezer. There are also four grandsons. These, with her husband, Chas. Sleezer and other relatives, friends and neighbors remain to mourn the loss of a loved one whose departure has brought its sorrow and lonesomeness to them.
