Mrs. Kathleen Lee Tyre, 85, died suddenly Tuesday morning (June 1, 2004) at Satilla Regional Medical Center.
She was a native of Bacon County but had resided most of her life in Waycross. She was married to the late Tres Tyre and was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Foster Lee and Odie Jane Meeks Lee; a sister, Birteen Mitchell; and two brothers, Wallace Lee and Cohen Lee. She was a member of Old Pine Grove Methodist Church.
The survivors include a daughter, Dorcas Tyre Waters (husband Darrell A.) Of Union, SC; a son, Ronnie Tres Tyre (wife Joyce A.) Of Clover, SC; four grandchildren, Harriet Alvarez (husband Benny) of Kingsland, Marla Phillips (husband Brent) of Union, SC, Tracy L. Danenhower (husband Scott) of York, SC, Rhonda Lynn Tyre of Rockhill, SC; three great grandchildren, Jarrod Knight (wife Michelle) and Dalton Knight both of Union, SC, Evan Danenhower of York, SC; three sisters, Juanita Gooden and Margaret Thornton both of Alma, Beatrice Hinman of Albany; a brother, Jesse Lee of Raeford, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday (June3, 2004) at Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Old Pine Grove Cemetery in Bacon County. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 6 until 8 o'clock. The family request memorials to be given to Old Pine Grove Cemetery.
