Glenn was born October 23, 1936 in Lumberton, NC, a son of the late Gernie and Mary C. Hayes.
He retired after a 31-year career with R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. His retirement was spent in missions work with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and with his avocation as an artist.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was a member of Pyerian Baptist Church in Latta.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 60 years, Priscilla; a son, Gary Hayes (Gail); a daughter, Lynn Hayes Powell (Chuck); four grandsons: Graham Hayes (Kristin), Chace Powell (Susannah), Chad Powell, and Chandler Powell; and two great- grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and five sisters: Carlyle Hayes (Lois), Marion Hayes (Sharon), Virginia Leggett, Mary Francis Pierce (Ronald), Martha Barfield (Jimmy), Linda Watford (Bobby), and Jeannette Herring.
