Sam graduated from a small rural school in Clover Bend, Arkansas in 1966 with dreams of someday being a high school basketball coach. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University, he realized that dream and went on to coach for 16 years, in Dublin and Saltilo, taking many of his teams to the finals at regional and state tournaments. He became "Coach" to all that knew him and is still "Coach" to this day. Sam had many passions but none so dear as his competitive love of racing go-carts. He could make an engine do amazing things and he loved the annual family cart racing. We will all miss seeing that big smile, especially the one displayed as he was picking up his first-place trophy from his brother. He was so proud of both his boys and would lovingly marvel at how well they turned out "despite his parenting skills". His grandchildren and many nieces and nephews were also a source of great pride. We will all miss him.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alline Moore and brother Albert Moore, all of which were taken way too soon but are now having a glorious reunion in heaven.
