Ed is survived by his wife, Pam; three brothers, Jack, Bill (Vicki), Scott (Cindy); one sister, Marcia (Jeff) Thomas; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews on both sides. Ed also had three children, Misty (Jamie) Myers, Tina Perze, and Brock Baker; and six grandchildren with whom he was extremely close.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Linda Mickle and Melva Behrens; one brother, Orville and a niece Nichole Clark.
Ed was a devoted family man who was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing ball. One of his proudest moments was when his fast pitch softball team the Tremont Merchants won the Illinois State 1998 Fast pitch Softball State Tournament. His team went on to play in the national tournament in Decatur, AL and Ed was chosen as an All-American first basemen for the national tournament.
Ed was a teamster, working for Cullinan for over 40 years before retiring in 2015. Ed was also an avid Cubs fan. People are encouraged to wear Cubs gear to both the visitation and funeral.
His funeral will be at 11:00 am Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Davis-Oswald Funeral Home in Tremont. Pastor Richard Hanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-8 on Wednesday and one hour before the service, both at the funeral home. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens.
