She was born July 2, 1928 in Bronson, MI a daughter to the late Peter and Julia (Francisco) Blaskie.
She lived in California, Sturgis, and Burr Oak for the last 45 years except for when her and her husband Robert lived in Port Richey, FL from 1997 – 2006.
On May 20, 1952 she married Robert Grossman. He preceded her in death January 15, 2009.
Theresa attended St. Mary’s School in Bronson and after graduating, worked several years at Bronson Reel Co.
She was a devoted wife and mother of three and helped out at school functions, enjoyed gardening, embroidery, word search puzzles, reading, traveling, and visiting with friends and family. She was the hostess to many family gatherings.
Surviving are two daughters: Carol Yoder of Burr Oak, MI and Terri (Larry) Smith of Malabar, FL; a son: Larry Grossman of Mottvile, MI; 5 grandchildren: Lori (Chad) Smoker, Michael Yoder, Christopher Smith, April Smith, and Justin Grossman; 6 great-grandchildren; a brother: Leon Blaskie of Irving, TX; a sister: Angeline Tierney of Elkhart, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings: Theodore, James, Raymond, twins: John and Genevieve Cadman, and Gertrude Blaskie.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, 602 W. Chicago Rd., Bronson, MI 49028.
Interment and graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI.
Memorial donations may be directed to St. Mary’s Educational Fund, envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes of Sturgis, MI who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
