"County Pioneer Dead at Ripley
Services Pending for Mrs. Margaret C. Olmstead, in Area Since 1890
Rites were pending for Mrs. Margaret C. Olmstead, 84, a resident of Lincoln and Payne counties since 1890, who died at her home in Ripley Thursday afternoon at 12:55.
A native of Vermillion county, Ill., where she was born November 9, 1868, she was married to John . Olmstead December 26, 1887 in Indiana and moved to Kansas. The couple came to Oklahoma with the opening of the Lincoln county area and settled nine miles north of Chandler.
Since that time she had lived in Lincoln and Payne counties, the last several years in Ripley. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
Funeral services are pending awaiting arrival of relatives.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Olmstead of Cushing and John Olmstead of Ripley; three daughters, Miss Nora Olmstead, Tulsa; Mrs. H.J. RCledesel, hanute, Kan., and Mrs. F.H. Bell, Torrance, Calif., and four grandchildren."
