88 year old Auval Estes Atnip of Smithville passed away Wednesday at his residence. He was retired from TRW, a veteran and a Baptist. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Mike Clayborn will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Holly Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. He was preceded in death by his wife Mentie Elizabeth Young Atnip, parents, Bennie Haskel and Lillie Carr Atnip; six brothers and sisters, and granddaughter, Toni Davis.
Survivors include six children, Austin Atnip, Willie Gene Atnip, Brenda and Ricky Adams, Patricia Wright, Billie Mairene, Tracy Bowman, and Sherry and Terry OβNeil. Eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren and loving caregivers and family Don and Melinda Williams also survive.
