Gerald Adams age 79 of Long Fork Road of Virgie, passed away Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born on April 7, 1939 to the late Charlie and Nora Tackett Adams. He was a retired coal miner and a veteran of the U.S. Marines.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Sue Adams, one son; Tim Adams, one brother; Robert Blake Adams, one sister; June Adams and two deceased brother in laws; Walter Rowe and Clint Little.
He is survived by his wife; Amanda Adams, son; Marty (Lynn) Adams of Long Fork, two brothers; Stevie (Laverne) Adams of TN, Gary (Donna) Adams of Winchester, five sisters; Janet (Walter) Rowe of Fayetteville, NC, Lenelle (Pete) McNeely of Long Fork, Jill (Blake) Rowe of Sharpsburg, GA, Ann (Larry) Hampton of Long Fork, Peggy Adams of Long Fork, sister in law; Jean Adams of Robinson Creek, five grandchildren; Timmy, Travis, Deven, J.D., and Wendi and three great-grandchildren; Brooks, Brailey and Bo.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00PM at the Long Fork Old Regular Baptist Church with Gary Hampton and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Amil Little Memorial Cemetery at Long Fork.
