Jeanette was born in the year of the tiger in Utica, the daughter of Evelyn Brown and the granddaughter of Elizabeth Brown. Jeanette was married to Ralph Switzer. They had a short union of thirteen years and were never blessed with children. She was employed at Indium Corp, for 40 years, until her retirement. Jeanette felt working there was the best thing in her life and it made her a better person. She made a number of friends at work which were like her family.
Jeanette loved people, sewing baby quilts, crossword puzzles and enjoyed the beauty of the earth and all God's creatures. She lived a solitary life, never bothering a soul, only to help them and hoped to be remembered for having a good heart.
Surviving are many friends.
Friends are hard to forget and so easy to remember. Jeanette wants to thank her special friends for being there for her when she needed them, the late Sandy Luckey, George Abel, Cal Odin, Howard Drinkwine, Bill Macartney, Sam Simon, Greg Evans, Wayne Hosey, Dennis Palmer, Ernie Galle, Dzevad Husic, Margert Wright, Lisa Zawatski, Hank Griffith; good friend and neighbor, Vinny and the late, Marie Dellechaie; and so many more, who all had a special place in her heart.
Friends are invited and may call on Wednesday between 3:30 and 6 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica. Funeral services will commence at the conclusion of visitation at 6 p.m. Prayers will be offered on Thursday morning at 11:45 at the funeral home with burial to follow at 1 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery, Utica.
Although Jeanette thought flowers were pretty, she felt a donation, in her name, to someone who needed it would be more helpful. Please remember Jeanette with a donation to Guiding Eyes for the Blind at www.guidingeyes.org or a charity of your choice.
To my friends and family: "When I must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrows to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile and for my sake, and in my name, live on and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your arms in comfort and in cheer and I, in turn, will comfort you. Love one another – Life is too short – Don't let it pass by. Celebrate my death – Have a good time – Try not to cry."
