Ramona Mae Dixon Jones, age 82, of Pine Level, NC passed away on August 15, 2018. Born in Johnston County on February 4th, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Boyd Jefferson and Mary Colon Raynor Dixon of Smithfield, NC. Her husband was the late Waverly Van Dorn Jones, Jr. She was a faithful wife and loving and caring mother. Mae enjoyed her time teaching at Pine Level Elementary School. In recent years she enjoyed traveling to the beach and mountains. She has been a longtime faithful member of Pine Level Original Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Scott and Rev. Al Warrick officiating. The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday just prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Oliver Cemetery in Pine Level.
Surviving are her sons, Mark Sterling Jones and wife Sally Perry Jones of Morehead City, NC; and her son Waverly Van Dorn Jones III and wife Blair Dickens Jones of Pine Level, NC; grandchildren Jessica Ashley Jones, Laura Jones Batson and husband John Batson, and Waverly Van Dorn Jones IV. Brother, Lee Daniel Dixon of Selma, NC and sister Bobbie Lee Dixon Lancaster of Smithfield, NC.
