Bonnie Ruth Wright, age 86 yrs, 2 months, 12 days, of Carrollton, Missouri passed away Monday, August 20, 2018, unexpectedly at her home at Jefferson Park Apartments, Carrollton, Carroll County, Missouri.
Bonnie was born June 8, 1932, the third child, and oldest daughter of George Allen and Ruth (Blakley) Wilkinson in Carrollton, Missouri.
She graduated from Carrollton High School. On August 25, 1949, Bonnie married the love of her life, Harold Marvin Wright at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton, Missouri. To this union, they were blessed with five sons, David Harold, Dennis Marvin, Douglas Eugene, Darrell, and Dean Allen Wright.
Bonnie and Harold were busy raising their five sons and enjoying farm life. She was a homemaker who felt blessed each day, by being able to take care of her husband and their children. Bonnie raised a large garden every year, which provided much of the food to feed her large family, and enjoyed cooking for them and friends. In her thoughts, every moment of the day should be spent enjoying and loving each other and making precious memories along the way. It was really important to Bonnie that she and Harold take the boys on a vacation each year and spend special time with them, even if they didn't go far. Bonnie and Harold were very active members of Wakenda Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. After they moved to town, they transferred their membership and became active in the First Baptist Church. She had an extensive collection of California raisin figurines, angels, and cat trinkets. Bonnie thoroughly enjoyed the many friendships she made throughout the years due to her membership in Trotter Hustler Extension Club and Happy Homemakers. She loved going on the many outings with the Red Hat Lady Bugs, and she and Harold both enjoyed dancing with the Grand River Squares, and traveling to many different towns and visiting with old and new friends. Bonnie liked going to McDonald's for a Big Mac and to Sonic after 8:00 p.m. with her friends for half price ice cream! She loved and admired her sister Jane, they took care of each other when they were sick, and would regularly go visit one another, ending up staying a week or two at a time. You rarely saw one without the other. They always had a great time together, especially when they would take off on a road trip to Texas or some other destination. Bonnie and Jane had plans to take, yet another trip, in the near future, and had already picked their destination. God had other plans. The two girls are now separated by sight, but not of heart. For many years, Bonnie worked as a dietician and cook at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, and had also been a cook at the Carrollton Junior/Senior High School. There was no question that she had brought along her experience to the jobs. She served up delicious meals, adding that dash of love and smile to each one. Few were witness to the times when life's burdens may have seemed overwhelming to her, but she didn't allow it to linger, she couldn't,... as her wisdom, her strength, her love, and her helping hands were always too needed by those who surrounded her. The young, the old, the in between, were all drawn to this woman. The woman who always seemed to have every thing, and every body..in line. As described by her children, and make no mistake about it, she was the Boss! This woman, who touched so many lives, kept her own life within balance. Mixing hard work and pleasure in as equal parts as possible. Her Harold allowed her to be herself, and some would say, he didn't have much choice about the matter. His mild manner complimented the spirit of his lifetime love, and they walked through all things..together. Their five sons were an extension of that forever love. Bonnie will be remembered for her love of God, her family, and her friends. Anyone who experienced the grace of her waltzing across their lives, will most certainly hold dear those memories. Her love and strength would simply be explained as ...incredible.
Bonnie is survived by her three sons, Dennis Wright and wife Terri, of Carrollton, Missouri, Douglas Wright and wife Donna, of Sweet Springs, Missouri, Darrell Wright and wife Deanna of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister, Jane Carlile of Harrisonville, Missouri; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; and great-nieces; and great-nephews; and her beloved dog and side-kick, Lucky, who never left her side, until she moved to Jefferson Park. Bonnie's condition on moving to an apartment 7 years ago, hinged on the fact that she had at that time, sold her farm to "Andy" Willis, and it was only upon Andy's agreeing to welcome back Lucky to the farm where little Lucky grew up, that Bonnie would agree with her sons about moving from the home on Monroe, that she and Harold had purchased when they once moved 'to town'. According to "Doug", his memory allowed that Lucky was somewhere between 8 and years old at the time. Lucky, now 7 more years later, has always been within visiting distance.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harold; two sons, David Wright and Dean Wright; and two brothers, Allen Duane Wilkinson and Ivan Wilkinson.
Visitation was held Thursday, August 23, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri.
Funeral service followed at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Phillip Fisher officiating.
Burial was in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Missouri, next to her husband and two of her five sons that had gone before her.
Pallbearers were:
Marvin Wright, Matt Wright, Brandon Robertson, Derek Wilkinson, Keith Wilkinson, and Jacob Davis.

Music was three of Bonnie's favorite Hymns:
Old Rugged Cross, How Great Thou Art, and In The Garden

For those who wished to make a memorial contribution, the family respectfully requested they be made to the Carroll County Senior Center in memory of Bonnie. They could be left at or mailed to Bittiker Funeral Home, P. O. Box 223, Carrollton, Missouri, 64633.
