He was born on Oct. 3, 1940, to Levi and Erline (Collier) Cunningham at Owensville.
He was united in marriage on April 10, 1961, to Mary Ann Sparks at St. Louis.
Jerry had served his country with the United States Marines. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Owensville, UAW Local 110 and the Gideons International. He enjoyed flying, woodworking and farming.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Erline Cunningham; daughter-in-law, Melissa Cunningham; grandsons, Travis Barrick and Zachary Cunningham; brothers, Jack and John Cunningham; and sister, Judy Jarvis
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of the home; children, Barbara Barrick and husband Danny of Cuba, Gregory Cunningham of Bland, Andrew Cunningham and wife Charlotte of Owensville and Sarah Luechtefeld and husband John of Leslie; brother, Jim Cunningham of Sullivan; sister, Janet Thomas of Jefferson City; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wed. Aug. 22 from 4-8 p.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville.
Funeral services will be on Thurs. Aug. 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Schmidt Cemetery at Strain with full military honors.
