Count of Artois. Born the eldest child of Philippe de Artois and Marie de Berry. He succeeded his father as Count of Eu, Seigneur de Saint-Valery and Houdain when he was three years old. He took part in the battle of Azincourt and was captured by the english. He spent twenty-three years in prison before he was allowed to return to France. He was married thrice but left no children. He was succeed by his nephew Jean II de Nevers.
