Laverne B. "L.B." Conover, 94 years of age, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 at his home.
L.B. was born in Adair County, Kentucky on February 22nd, 1924, son of the late Ruford Elmer and Rosa Belle Atchley Conover. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church, and retired from Oakwood Training Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
L.B. was survived by his loving wife, Ann Cravens Conover; five children, Barbara Beard, Bruce (and Elaine) Conover, Brad (and Melinda) Conover, Beryl McClure, and Blaine Conover; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruford Elmer Conover, who departed this life on March 14th, 1969 and Rosa Belle Conover, who departed this life on May 4th, 1985; one sister, Ruby Grider, who departed this life on May 10th, 2011; and one brother, Francis Conover, who departed this life on April 20th, 1968.
Visitations were held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26th, 2018 at the Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26th, 2018 in the Chapel of the Bernard Funeral Home with Bro. David Coffey officiating.
His pallbearers were: Jordan Conover, Matt McClure, Cory Beard, Zachery Cramer, J.B. Bernard, and Jack McQueary.
Interment followed in the Conover Cemetery with full military honors by the Russell County Honor Guard.
