Jeanette Mable Mingus, age 82, passed away on August 18, 2018 after a short illness at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY.
She was born on May 18, 1936 in Shinglehouse, PA to Roy and Doris (Presser) Klinger. Jeanette worked all of her adult life but found the most joy in taking care of the elderly. She was married to Donald Mingus, who pre-deceased her in 2006. She is survived by two sons, Mark (Diana) Sherwood of Lakeville, NY and Jeffery Sherwood of Andover, NY, grandchildren Danielle (Alex) Keogan, Gabrielle Sherwood, Lynn Sherwood, Hannah Sherwood, Milena Sherwood, Cheryl (Cliff) Rigerman, Adam Bates and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nieces Robin (Mike) Goode, Cindy (Jude) Auman, great-nieces and nephews and many friends, especially Laura Hoh. In addition to her husband, she was pre-deceased by her parents and sister Joanne Appleby.
Jan’s Memorial Service will be held privately in Shinglehouse, PA. Burial will be in the East Sharon Cemetery, East Sharon, PA.
