Amos was the son of Lawyer and Eva Maynard Lowe. He was married to Elsie Jones Lowe. Five children- Louie "Irvin" Lowe, Margie Lowe Elkins,, Alma Lowe Thompson, Julius Dean Lowe and Maudie Lowe Thompson. He accepted Jesus in November 1979, and was a member of the Bent Branch Old Regular Baptist Church.
