He was a retired farmer and a Presbyterian. He was a member of Young County Masonic Lodge No. 485. He was a charter member of the Fort Belknap Historical Society and a member of the Fort Belknap Geneological Association and the Young County Historical Commission.

Lewis Wilson Brooks, 96, was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Young County Masonic Lodge No. 485.
Services were held at Morrison Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Dan Sebesta.
Survived by three daughters - Elisa Neve Brooks, Gwendolyn Howell, Wilma Sims; two sons - Wilson Brooks and Russell Brooks; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
