Born April 22, 1932, in Marion, SC, he was the son of the late John Boyd “JB” DuBose, Jr. and Lillian “Billie” Hatchell DuBose.
U. S. Army veteran, a graduate of Wofford College; an industrial engineer, retiring from Spartan Mills, and was a member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Newman DuBose; sons, Richard Patrick DuBose Jr. of Winston-Salem, NC and Stephen “Steve” Daryl DuBose of Forest City, NC; granddaughters, Jade MacDonald (Chris) of Yadkinville, NC and Danielle DuBose of Charlotte, NC; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Ellie and Olive McDonald.
In addition to his parents, predeceased by a son, Paul Boyd DuBose.
Visitation was 12:30-1:45 PM Friday, August 17, 2018, in Davis Chapel of First Baptist Church Spartanburg, 250 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC.
Funeral services followed at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Bob Neely. Burial was 1:00 PM, Saturday, August 18, 2018, in Cypress Cemetery, Sandy Grove Church Rd., Lamar, SC.
