Born Aug. 20, 1955 in Las Cruces, N.M., she was a daughter of the late Arthur William and Martha Genieva Ives Thompson.
A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, Ms. Brown was a retired state trooper for the Pennsylvania State Police.
She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Trooper Association, Fraternal Order of Police, The Plum Run Hunt and was a member of the Episcopalian faith.
Surviving are her fiance, Dean B. Shipe of Newville; a son, Kyle A. Brown of Altoona; a sister, Marti T. Adkins of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother, Warren T. Thompson of Richland, Wash.; a stepbrother, Trent D. Thompson of Alabama; two nephews and one niece.
