James Walker Burton, Sr., 77, of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Sandston and retired from the Virginia Army National Guard after 33 years of service. He was past Master of Masonic Lodges No. 219 and No. 272. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Vincent and Mae Slaughter Burton; sister, Claudia Minor; and brother, Bobby Burton (1942-2009) and is survived by his wife, Virginia Burton; three children, Debbie Short (Bryan), Muriel Baxter (Richard) and James Burton, Jr.; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Claude Burton (Betty); and sister-in-law, Darlene Burton.
