Funeral services were held at the Jay chapel this morning tor Benjamin Franklin Bishop, 73, a 25 year resident of Madera. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev Raymond H. Sawyer.
Burial was in Arbor Vitae cemetery. Bishop, who was born in Missouri, died Aug. 22 in the Madera county hospital at 9:58 p, m. A long illness was the cause of death. Surviving Bishop are three daughters, Mis. Marguerite Moodyman, of Los Angeles; Mrs. Jessie Richardson, of Grass Valley; and Mrs. Mable Johnson of Phoenix, Arizona, and two sons, Frank Bishop, of Madera, and John Bishop of Chicago.
Also surviving Bishop are two sisters, Mrs. Lima Jones, of Escondido, and Mrs. Kate Couch of Missouri, and two brothers, Marion Bishop and John Bishop of Phoenix. Ariz. Bishop is survived by 18 grandchildren.
