Dies At Age 66
Wilton Henry Stevenson – 66, of 722 Kilbourne Road, died Saturday in Richland Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Stevenson was born in Marion, a son of the late William Henry and Roselyn Bostick Stevenson. He was a graduate of The Citadel, and had been associated with the Volunteer Life Insurance Co. since 1929. He was a member of Washington Street United Methodist Church and a former member of the official board.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Richland County Citadel Club, Forest Lake Country Club, the Columbia Underwriters Association and the American Society of Certified Life Underwriters. He was also an Army Veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his widow, Edith Mae DeBerry Stevenson; a son, William Cannon Stevenson of Columbia and four brothers, Travis B. Stevenson of Waterboro, Col. E.B. Stevenson of Cheraw, Clement O. Stevenson of Six Mile and Joseph H. Stevenson of Arlington, Va.
Services will be 3 p.m. today in Greenlawn Memorial Park, conducted by the Rev. Dr. E. Wannamaker Hardin.
Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel is in charge.
