Kermit - Eldon went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on April 27, 2007.
Eldon was born March 7, 1927 in Arkansas City, Kansas, to Frank and Violet Sheffield.
He graduated from Kermit High School with the class of 1944.
Eldon was in the United States Army, and attended the airborne school October 1946 and was qualified paratrooper and served in World War II. He was employed by Parker Drilling Company (Oklahoma City) as Drilling Superintendent for 30 years.
He enjoyed traveling over the United States on his motorcycle with family and friends and attended the Class reunions of 1944 Class of Kermit High.
He is survived by his loving wife Virginia Sheffield, Odessa Texas and son Mark Sheffield of Sealy, Texas. Stepsons, Kenneth Scheible and wife Pat of Odessa TX.; Charles Scheible of Abilene, TX., Fred Scheible and wife Mitzi of Odessa, TX. and Glenn Scheible and wife Libby of Austin,TX. Stepdaughters-Sharon Duckworth and husband Rick of Odessa,TX.; Gayle Howard & husband Barney of San Marcos,TX.; Neta Scheible of Odessa,TX. and Ami Krause Odessa, TX.
13 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, April 29th at 10:00 a.m -2:00 p.m. at Martinez Cooper Funeral Home, 220 S. Cedar St. Kermit, TX
Memorial Service will be held at Full Gospel River of Life Church, 1121 S. Meadow St. Odessa, Texas at 6:00 p.m. Sunday April 29th.
Interment will be held Monday April 30th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kermit Cemetery.
