Heather Laine Watkins, age 33, of Flat Rock, AL passed away at her home Tuesday July 31, 2018. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army 320th MP Company of St. Petersburg, FL serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. She was a graduate of Rhea County High School Class of 2003 in Evensville, TN.
Mrs. Watkins was preceded in death by her sister Julie Anne Brown, Grandparents Russell (Helen) Roberts and Ross (Gertrude) Kirkpatrick; and father-in-law Billy Roy Watkins.
Surviving include her husband Brian Watkins of Flat Rock, AL; two step-children Robert John and Grace Elizabeth Watkins of Elizabethtown, N.C.; Mother Mary Kirkpatrick of Flat Rock, AL; Father Bill Kirkpatrick of Bryant, AL; godparents Michael (Carol) Hensley of Charleston, S.C.; sister Malinda (Mathew) Sherman, niece Emily Brown (AKA “sisant”) of Trenton, GA; also, several nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held 2 PM Saturday August 4, 2018 in the chapel with Michael Hensley officiating and military honors proceeding the service. Family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM Saturday at Ryan Funeral Home.
