Mary Evelyn Snyder, age 90, of La Porte, passed away at 7:15 AM, Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Golden Living Center Fountainview Terrace in La Porte.

She was born on June 24, 1925 in Newton, IL to Robert L. Booker and Eva Pearl (Miller) Booker. Mary came to Indiana in 1943 and in 1944 married Arthur Joseph Snyder. From this union two children were born. She was a member of First Baptist Church in La Porte, served as president and treasurer of American Baptist Women and belonged to the Ladies Aid Faith Circle. Mary retired from Howmet Corporation in 1991.

She is survived by her sisters, Marjorie and Mona; her beloved children, Francis and Robert; grandchildren, Michael, Gregory, Robert Jr., Melissa, and Jacqueline; and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Emily.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, who passed away on April 6, 1985; sisters, Zella Fox, Ellen Rodgers and Ann Ford; and brothers, Harold, Samuel and Gordon Booker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A time of visitation will take place from 4 - 8 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2015 and from 9:30 am until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place following the service at Patton Cemetery.
