Early Life: Patricia was born April 15, 1940, in Provo, Utah, to Boyd Kenney and Madalene Thomas Jolley.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: On September 4, 1958, she married Don C. Hales; they were blessed with eight children. She devoted her life to her husband and children. Families were paramount. Pat was an avid advocate and lobbyist for children and served as the Utah State PTA President. She loved the arts and felt cultural things soothed the soul and calmed the heart. She served as Utah Symphony Guild President. Pat, a true patriot, felt family and community were the base for strength of country. She served on numerous committees, including Governor's Initiative on Families Today, Centennial Celebration of Statehood and many others. Pat faithfully served in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life. She opened her heart and home to many other children and families. Patricia LaRue Jolley Hales passed away in the arms of her loving husband of 51 years on March 9, 2010, due to complications of cancer. She was 69.
Family Message: "While complications of cancer took her life, it did not define her life. Thank you to Utah Cancer Specialists and Dr. DiFiore; Symbii Hospice, Jan, Nina and staff; family, friends and neighbors for their loving care and support."
Survived By: Her husband, Don; their children: Shelli Densley (Kip), KaRynn Christensen (Bryan), Greg (Terri), Richard (Tiffany), Michael, Lisa Walters (Mike), Paul (Jennie), Camille Bergstrom (Craig); foster son, Darren Tafoya (Brenda); 39 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Kenney Jolley (Pam); sisters, Judy Allen (Paul) and Kris Jolley; stepfather, Rex Petersen; Jim Petersen (Janice), Susan Quintero (Jack) and many extended family.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents and brother, Clark Jolley.
