Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 31, 1991, 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Odebolt, for Melvin D. Albrecht, 60, with Rev. Albert Buelow officiating. Music for the service provided by Congregational singing with Mrs. Henrietta McFarland serving as organist. Honorary Attendants were Michael Gonnerman and Dennis Albrecht. The flower committee was Mrs. Wilbert Mohr and Mrs. Richard LaGrange. Active attendants were Wayne Riessen, Richard Riessen, David Fertig, Bill Fertig, Steven Albrecht and Randal Gonnerman. Final resting place was the Odebolt Cemetery.
Melvin was born on December 26, 1931 in Sac County, Iowa to R. William and Ella (Klindt) Albrecht. He received his education in the rural schools of Sac County and the Arthur School He was confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church and later transferred to Trinity Lutheran.
Melvin married Eunice Lindstrom at Dow City on February 1, 1969, and they made their home in Odebolt.
Melvin was employed with Bill and Sylvester Lunkenheimer as a mason and with Cracker Jack as an elevator operator.
Melvin enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Eunice, of Odebolt; one step son and wife, Kyle and Sandy of Des Moines; two step-grandchildren - Kevin and wife, Mary of Milford, Connecticut and Cindy and her husband, Bob of Arlington, Virginia; three sisters - Betty Riessen of Battle Creek, Marlene Fertig and Shirley Gonnerman of Odebolt; one brother - Lloyd of Ft. Dodge; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Darlene.
