Ralph was born February 24, 1942 in Champion to the late August and Pauline (Ogea) Warner. He graduated from Champion High School, class of 1961. Augie worked for Cleveland Cliffs for 34 years, retiring in 2002 as a shovel operator from the Tilden Mine.
Augie enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. Ralph also enjoyed a good conversation over a cup of coffee at the Corner Café in Humboldt and fish fry at Sherry’s Restaurant.
Augie is survived by 2 sons: Robert (Kathi) Warner of L’Anse, and Lyle E. (Summer) Warner of Republic, 3 grandchildren: Jake (Katrina) Warner of Howard Lake, MN, Chase Warner of L’Anse and Gage Warner of Republic, a sister Marina “Myrna” Middleton of Portland, OR, an uncle Thomas Warner, along with nieces, nephews and cousins Augie was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judith in 2005 and 2 sisters Connie and Donna.
Augie’s family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am-1:00pm on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at the Bjork and Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm with Pastor Paddy Palomaki officiating. Entombment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.
A luncheon will follow at the Champion Township Fire Hall.
