Robert Braneff, age 78, a resident of DeQuincy, Louisiana was born on January 25, 1940 in Vidor, Texas and passed away on August 2, 2018 at his home. Robert proudly served his country for 6 years in the United States Navy. Robert was employed as a longshoreman and he retired after 30 years of employment.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances Lavera Braneff; his children, Kaye Stewart of DeQuincy, Reginald Braneff and wife, Karen of Orange, Texas; five grandchildren, Tasha, Rickena, Terry, Kristopher and Brittany, and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Henderson Braneff and wife, Mary Ellen of Vidor, Texas, Estil Braneff and wife, Mary of Vidor, Texas; two sisters, Maggie Bloomfield of Evadale, Texas and Jean Gould of Vidor, Texas along with a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Braneff, parents, Ira and Gracie Braneff; brothers, Thomas Braneff and Rev. Charles Braneff; sisters, Ellen Gilmore and Willie Lee Truelock.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. with the funeral service to begin at 6:00 P.M. The visitation and funeral will be held at Westgate, 1599 West Fourth St, DeQuincy, Louisiana. A prayer service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the church beginning at 8:30 A.M. Interment will follow at Clark Cemetery, Starks, Louisiana. Officiating will be Rev. Bobby Edwards and Rev. Charles Braneff, Jr.
