Mrs. Rosella Smith, of Randolph Township, who was taken to the state asylum for the insane at Warren, last week, died at that institution Wednesday night, January 20th. The remains arrived in this city Thursday evening and were taken to Guy's Mills for interment.
Deceased was aged 73 years and we the widow of the late Reuben Smith. Two sons and two daughters survive her. The deceased's maiden name was Gilbert and she married her first husband Lyman Howard, who died in an insane asylum in 1865, leaving her with four young children. She married for her second husband Reuben Smith, about 23 years ago, and he died in October last. The deceased experienced a good deal of trouble and always bore her misfortunes with Christian fortitude, and enjoyed the confidence and respect of all her knew her. The funeral services were held in the Forest grove (M.E.) church, Saturday, conducted by Rev. McKinney. Interment was made in the Union Cemetery.
