Dorothy E. Woodward, 96, of State Center, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 in the comfort of her own home.
Following Dorothy’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorial services for Dorothy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Hannahs officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed in Dorothy’s name to her family.
Dorothy Elizabeth Miller was born on April 30, 1922 in Plymooth, PA, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Martz) Miller. On November 11, 1963, Dorothy was united in marriage to the love of her life, Charles Woodward in Medina, NY. She was employed at Middleport Canning Factory in Middleport, NY for most of her working career. Dorothy had a passion for crocheting, embroidering, baking, cooking and spending time with her family.
Left to cherish Dorothy’s memory are her children: Shirley Stortz, Pam (Bob) Grant and Irvin (Kelly) Woodward; grandchildren: Robert E. (Jessica) Grant Jr, Truly A. (Paul) Gardner and Cordell Woodward; great-grandchildren: Geoffrey Grant, Brendan Grant, Libby Gardner and Denver Gardner; as well as her four legged furry companion: “Dukie”.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Charles Woodward; parents: John and Elizabeth Miller; two brothers, one son, one infant daughter and one grandson: Dakota.
