Thelma Devey Carroll, age 65, of Colorado, formerly of West Jordan, died on Tuesday, January 9, 1990 in Colorado Springs, following a courageous fight with a lingering illness.


She was born September 7, 1924 in Alpine, Utah; daughter of John Henry and Alta Eleen Harris Devey. Married Mark Kartchner Carroll on August 24, 1942; marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a housewife and mother, served as a leader and teacher all of her life. Served an LDS Mission with her husband in Calhan, Colorado. Attended schools in Alpine, graduated from American Fork High School.


Survived by husband, Colorado Springs; daughters, Mrs. Donald (Charlotte) Beebe, West Jordan; Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Beaty, American Fork; Mrs. Robert (Lynda Kay) Graber, Omaha; Mrs. Bradley (JoAnne) Mann, Colorado Springs; 15 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, William (Bill) Devey, Alpine; LaVerl Devey and Mrs. Ernest (Eleen) Urry, both of Lehi; Mrs. K.D. (Lucille) Mitchell, Birdseye. Preceded in death by two grandchildren, Carrie and Richard Beaty.


Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 15, 1990 at 2 p.m. in the Bingham Creek 7th Ward Chapel, 7950 South Redwood Road, where friends may call from 11 a.m. till time of services.
Interment: Alpine City Cemetery.
