Barbara was preceded in death by her two daughters, Terri Cox LeWorthy and Sharon Cox Beckham of Houston, and her husband William D. Jarvis of Moultrie, Georgia. Barbara is survived by her beloved son-in-law Charles T. Beckham and grandson Stephen Beckham, two stepsons, Richard and Steven Jarvis and five step-grandchildren, all of the Houston area, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Galena Park High School and attended Mary Hardin-Baylor College in Belton, Texas. She was a graduate of the University of Houston and taught in the Galena Park ISD for 23 years at Cloverleaf Elementary.
Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with an interment to follow in the Forest Park Lawndale cemetery.
