Jeannie Franklin, 66, of St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 in her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born September 27, 1951 in Marshall, Missouri to Robert and Tralucia (Walden) Franklin, she was a strong-willed, athletic sister to five.
Jeannie graduated from SMSU in Springfield, Missouri where she played for the lady’s golf team. She developed a passion for softball, guitar, art, and dogs.
As the 42-year owner/operator of J. Franklin Gallery, formerly known as The Nook and Cranny, she dedicated her life to her work and was a certified museum quality framer.
Jeannie was past president of Second Harvest Community Food Bank, a strong supporter of the Humane Society, and a quiet contributor to her community by supporting many local organizations and providing anonymous random acts of kindness to others in need.
She was preceded in death by her parents, lifelong best friend Julie Younger, nieces Tralucia Chastain and Katie Savidge Kluge, and great-niece Ansley Adair Powell.
Survivors include siblings Bill Franklin (Margie), Lake Ozark, Missouri; Karen Savidge (Bob), Village of Oaks, Missouri; Lucia Chastain (Don), Chattanooga, Tennessee; Susan Roth (Bob), St. Joseph, Missouri and Cynthia Michalski, St. Joseph, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will gather with friends 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
