Early Life: Patricia "Magdalene" was born April 16, 1932, in Bloemfontein, South Africa, to Edward and Susarah Rousseau Murphy. Magdalene was 16 years old when she joined The Church of Latter-day Saints and immigrated to Alberta, Canada.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: In 1952, she married Gail Young in the Cardston Alberta LDS Temple. They raised a family in Provo, Utah, living on Grandview Hill for many years. Magdalene and Gail had five children: Gaylen, Alan, James, Monika and Jesse. They divorced in 1963. Magdalene married Oriean Nels Hanson in 1970. She and Oreian had two children: Susarah and Jordan. Oreian had four children from his previous marriage: Kerry, Ranee, Leslie and Brent. Oreian worked for Brigham Young University and passed away in 1992. In 2000, Magdalene married Bruce William Warren in 2000. Bruce was a religion instructor for BYU. He authored notable books, articles and was highly regarded for his work in archaeology. He passed away in 2013. Magdalene was a gifted artist and loved to write poetry. She will always remembered for being friendly and very chatty with everyone. She enjoyed spending time at Deseret Industries searching for obscure religious books. Magdalene loved the gospel. Among her friends and family, she was jokingly referred to her as “Saint Magdalene”. Patricia "Magdalene" Murphy Young Hanson Warren, of Lindon, Utah, passed away August 1, 2018. She was 86.
