He is survived by his son, Pat Caldwell and wife, Theresa; granddaughter, Kristen Caldwell; brother, Albino Caldwell and wife, Lucy; sisters, Flora Crutcher and husband, Earl, Tillie Caldwell, Ruby Griego, and Betty Caldwell; nieces and nephews, many friends; and his special friend, Janice Huntzinger.
Bernie was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Veronica (Garcia) Caldwell; brothers, Eloy, Eusebio, Leroy, Sevedeo, and George Caldwell; and sisters, Grego Caldwell and Erminia Garcia; parents - Elias Colby Caldwell and Lucarita Gurule
Bernie served in the United States Navy proudly before returning to Albuquerque where he worked for the City of Albuquerque Refuse Department until his retirement. Bernie also volunteered for the Forest Service. He loved to go camping and fishing. Bernie was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
